KOMPIS er et igangværende kombineret forsknings- og udviklingsprojekt hvis kerne er ateksperimentere med en meget eksplicit og forpligtende kompetenceorientering af matematik-, dansk- ognaturfagsundervisningen i grundskolens ældste klasser. I artiklen her formidles den konkrete historiebag projektet, vores analyser af måden hvorpå kompetencemål på konstruktiv vis kan blive en centraldel af rammesætningen af forsøgsundervisningen, samt de forskningsmæssige perspektiver vi har valgtat lægge på sagen. Disse perspektiver består dels i at anlægge et lærer-, et elev- og et evalueringsperspektivpå de deltagende læreres og elevers arbejde, dels i at undersøge muligheder og vanskelighederved opbygningen af kompetenceorienterede fagkulturer. KOMPIS is a research and development project designed to test and document astrong focus on competencies in the teaching of mathematics, Danish and sciencein lower secondary school. In this paper, the history of the project is described,along with analysis of how specific competence objectives may contribute tothe framing of the experimental teaching, and finally the research approach weadopted is laid out in detail. The approach on the one hand involves a teacher-,a student- and an assessment perspective on the participating teachers’ andstudents’ efforts, and on the other hand of examining potentials for and barriersagainst competence-oriented professional learning communities.
