Forced displacement
About the loss of home and how to create a new home in a foreign place when you are traumatized

traumatised refugees, identity, adjustment, recovery, biopsychosocial rehabilitationAbstract
Your homestead is an integral part of one's development and identity. Identity development is a lifelong process based on certain phases which you experience. Certain life phases of a refugee are based in traumatic experiences and a loss of home. The loss of a geographic and a bodily place results in one having to learn to live in a new place. What challenges will arise, how do you adapt, and how do you reconstruct your identity?
