Resumé

I de senere år er børns erfaringer med natur blevet knyttet sammen med deres forståelse af bæredygtighed. Ifølge forskningen
leder positive naturerfaringer og oplevelsen af at være en del af naturen til at føle omsorg for den. Omsorgen motiverer for at handle bæredygtigt, et forhold, der bliver beskrevet ved begrebet ’naturforbundethed’. Forskningslitteraturen refererer ofte til natur som et grønt (eller blåt) område – dvs. som et sted, der til forskel fra urbane områder har egenskaber, der stimulerer positive naturerfaringer. Sammenhængen mellem oplevelser med vilde dyr i naturen (både hvirvelløse som fx snegle og edderkopper og hvirveldyr som fx pattedyr og padder) og positive naturerfaringer er derfor ikke afdækket. Vi ved endnu ikke, om vilde dyr i deres
egenskab af at være væsner med egne mål og erfaringsverdner kan stimulere børns oplevelse af at være en del af naturen og dermed ultimativt bæredygtig adfærd. Dyr er ellers særlig lette at føle sig forbundet med og føle omsorg for, fordi deres adfærd ofte ligner vores egen. Det kan intuitivt bidrage til at pirre interesse og åbne døren for en spirende forståelse. Dette essay tilbyder en begyndende teoretisk ramme for, hvordan børns oplevelser af vilde dyr kan påvirke deres muligheder for at udvikle naturforbundethed. Essayet udfolder, hvordan iagttagelser af vilde dyr og deres målrettethed i deres naturlige miljø potentielt stimulerer både følelser og erkendelser. Vi peger på tre effekter, nemlig 1) stimulering af nysgerrighed gennem dyrs sansning og handlen, 2) indsigt i naturens mangfoldighed gennem dyrs genkendelige og dog anderledes adfærd og 3) oplevelse af afhængighed af den konkrete omverden. Effekterne af oplevelserne sættes ind i diskussionen om børns naturforbundethed. Vi diskuterer også betydningen af den voksnes involvering og understøttelse af stimuleringen af følelser og erkendelser i udviklingen af børns naturforbundethed.
