Årg. 22 Nr. 40 (2020): New Infrastructures—Performative Infrastructures in the Art Field

Cover of New Infrastructures—Performative Infrastructures in the Art Field

The ’infrastructural turn’ in the arts (in recent years) encompasses a wide range of experimentation with organizational forms and new modes of collaboration. They are performed as productive destabilizations within established, institutional settings, enacted in public spaces, and wowen into situated artistic practices or in reaching out to communities and sites beyond the domain of art. As such, they testify to the resurgent interest from artists, curators, and theorists in the political agency of art in contemporary society. This book documents and theorizes a variety of examples of experimental interactions with infrastructural parameters in the arts.
