Submission: Guide

A DUT Guide is a short, application-oriented and action-oriented publication based on research and new literature. The Guide is aimed at educators and developers who want to improve their practice. It should provide suggestions and recommendations on how educators or developers can apply the article's topic in a concrete and practical way in their own educational, development, teaching or learning contexts.

Who can submit a university teaching guide?

If you would like to write a Guide for DUT, you must first contact the DUT editorial team, describe your proposal and explain why such a Guide is relevant to the field of university teaching. Once an agreement has been reached on a guide, you will receive author guidelines and the template in which the publication must be submitted. Please take a look at previous Guides from DUT, as we strive not to publish closely related Guides. We encourage multiple authors to collaborate on a Guide across institutions or similar to ensure cross-institutional relevance.
In some cases, the author will be specially invited by the DUT editorial team based on their expertise and practical experience with a relevant topic that the editorial team believes should be highlighted in a Guide.

Assessment process

Guides are written by people with expertise/knowledge in the field that the guide addresses. The article is assessed in an open review process. This means that the author receives feedback from the editorial team and an expert in the subject area (who may be from within or outside the editorial team).
