Guidelines to submission of book review

Book reviews should be submitted through tidsskrift.dk on page

Formalities:

  • Reference System: Women, Gender & Research uses the APA reference system. You can find the updated version of the style and guidelines here: APA Style.
  • Length: The review should not exceed 1.500 words, including spaces and headings.
  • Spelling: Either US or UK English spelling is acceptable, as long as it is used consistently throughout the review.

Suggested Structure:

a) Presentation of the Work
Describe the theme and central points of the book. Provide insights into the traditions the work is part of and optionally reference other authors and works in the field of study. Focus on summarizing the main points of the book rather than reviewing each chapter, to present the overall content and significance of the work.

b) Discussion of the Work
Engage in a dialogue with the work concerning its theses, theoretical frameworks, and the subject matter in general. Use your professional expertise to enhance the reader's understanding of both the work and the subject.

c) Assessment of the Work
Evaluate the quality and applicability of the work in various contexts. Your assessment should be supported by explanations that are understandable to readers outside the specific field. Critically assess the work while evaluating it on its own terms.
