Abstract

In recent years, we have been witnessing increased attention toward closer interaction between scientific knowledge creation and innovation among practitioners. This development implies new challenges for research collaboration to be scientifically grounded. This paper methodologically describes how the Future Creation Workshop can enable actionable knowledge by combing practitioner experience with scientific criteria for knowledge production. Drawing on a variety of research experience the method is presented and it is theoretically and methodologically discussed how implied ambitions to strengthen democratic participation; enable free spaces for experimental thinking; and integrate diverse forms of knowledge, can mutually stimulate, and enable change across science and practice.
