Language Forum's editorial core group
Sprogforum's core group consists of a wide range of practitioners, consultants and researchers in the field of language and cultural education in Denmark. When recruiting members to the editorial core group, we aim for geographical spread, representation from many different types and levels of language and cultural education, and diversity in languages. See the list of core group members below.
The editorial steering committee determines the themes for each issue of Sprogforum, and the members of the steering committee are included in the theme editorials for each issue of Sprogforum. In addition, the large group is an important sparring partner for the permanent editorial team in terms of discussing the overall editorial line and keeping a finger on the pulse in the field of language and cultural education. The editorial steering group meets twice a year (January and August) for a steering group meeting. The steering group decides which themed issues to publish and acts as a sounding board for the editorial team.
The theme editorial teams
The theme editorial teams for the individual theme issues are put together at the large group meetings and always consist of a theme editor from Sprogforum's permanent editorial team and members of the large group with expertise or interest in the theme issue's area. Being part of a theme editorial team means that you are involved in drafting the call for the theme issue, reviewing and approving submitted abstracts and doing outreach work in relation to other relevant writers. The theme editorial team members handle the communication with the accepted authors about submitting articles, and they are responsible for the initial reading, commenting and approval of the submitted articles. The theme editorial team then passes the articles to the permanent editorial team, who are responsible for further communication with authors and peer reviewers. The final editing process and layout is handled by the editorial team.
