Resumé

Med udgangspunkt i en række etnografiske studier tematiserer dette essay betydningen af det andet-end- og mere-end-menneskelige domæne, som træder frem i disse forskningsarbejder. Essayet anskueliggør og analyserer, hvordan der blandt en
gruppe af de mennesker, som er fulgt i antropologisk feltforskning, findes relationer til ikke-menneskelige dyr og livsformer,
der har afgørende betydning for deres hverdag. I bidraget analyseres empiriske eksempler på væsensforskellige tværartslige
interaktioner og relationer, der opsøges og plejes i offentligt og privat rum. Som der argumenteres for, besidder det andet-
end-menneskelige domæne en række vigtige og ofte ikkeerkendte eller upåagtede betydninger i hverdagslivet, som manifesterer
sig og bliver tilgængelige, når mennesker følges under etnografisk feltarbejde. I essayet relateres indsigter, konkrete eksempler og empiriske fund fra egen forskning til det voksende felt af såkaldt multispecies forskning, som aktuelt udføres og publiceres.
