The study is based on a focus group interview and explores students' digital study skills, focusing on their choices, negotiation practices, and motives. Most decisions are grounded in personal assumptions, preferences, and prior experiences from upper secondary and primary school. Negotiation is implicit, driven by ease, speed, and accessibility. Bachelor students' digital skills are influenced by 'herd instinct' and product thinking, with little process thinking, limiting exploration of better digital solutions. The article discusses how factors such as institutional logics, time constraints, pace, and a lack of strategic focus may influence students’ development of study competencies.
