Theme. It is the objective of this article to establish a set of design principles that may aid future research on the use of VR in the treatment of elderly with dementia. These principles are based on a number of projects in the municipality of Rødovre, all of which build upon the same VR concept for elderly with dementia. Focus. This article, which is based upon a Design-Based Research framework, focuses on methods such as user-centered design, user tests, and integration of the real world contextutilizing the technology. The VR concept seeks to consider both the employees and elderly, in order to create a practical and convenient concept and design. Conclusion. In light of the finalizing tests, the article claims to have found a practical interactive design, which allows for the deployment of VR equipment in a practice-related context. The concept consists of, amongst other things, the need for planned operational procedures, VR goggles with integrated sound, and an external viewing device for the employees.Downloads
