”Kodestikning” som en affektiv metodologi i klimadebat og dekolonisering

Artiklen undersøger, hvordan kalaallit inuit (grønlandske) kunstnere navigerer i en kulturel og politisk kontekst, hvor de i kraft af deres status som oprindelige folk tildeles en særlig autoritet til at tale på isens/naturens vegne. Artiklen åbner med Inuk Jørgensens kortfilm Entropy (2024), der umiddelbart præsenterer sig som et opråb fra inuit til det omgivende samfund om at skifte kurs, før det er for sent. I artiklens hoveddel sættes fokus på Jessie Kleemanns Arkhticós Dolorôs-projekt, bestående af en videoperformance (2019) og et digtværk (2021). Med begrebet ”kodestikning” (code-stitching, som når man stikker en søm, Ramazani 2015) afdækker analysen, hvordan Kleemann indkredser nye måder at tilgå en modsætningsfuld virkelighed, som også for oprindelige folk – eller måske i særlig grad for oprindelige folk – spænder over sprog, kulturer og verdensforståelser. Mit argument er, at Kleemanns performative undersøgelser af moderne kalaallit inuit-identitet kan ses som en politisk intervention, hvor det feticherende billede af de tragiske inuit, frosset i fortiden og deres egen essens som naturfolk/oprindelige folk, erstattes med erindringen om det historiske forløb. Med indsigterne fra Kleemann vender vi afslutningsvis tilbage til Jørgensens film, som også kan læses som en følelsesmæssig intervention i en intern grønlandsk debat om resurseudnyttelse. Analysen tydeliggør, at dekolonisering – selv når det angår oprindelige folk – ikke automatisk er ensbetydende med miljøaktivisme.
