Register as author
Many of the journals published on tidsskrift.dk use the portal for the entire editorial process. You may therefore be asked to submit your contribution via tidsskrift.dk. To do so, you must create an account. Please note that some journals use tidskrift.dk for publication only, and therefore only recieve manuscripts directly by e-mail. You will find information about this on the page of each journal.
Below, you will find guides on how to register as an author of one or several journals. To register as an author, you must first register as a reader of the journal (due to GDPR), and then you can subsequently assign the author role to your profile.
You can register in two ways:
- at the tidsskrift.dk main page (A). This gives you the opportunity of registering as a reader and subsequently author of several journals at once.
- with a specific journal via the journal’s own website (B). This only allows you to register with one journal at the time of registration. However, you can register at more journals subsequently by following this guide.

A) Registration at the tidskrift.dk main page
Select ‘register’ and fill out the form
If you wish to register via the tidsskrift.dk main page, select ‘register’ in the top menu.
This will open a registration form for you to complete. Fields marked with * are mandatory.
Notice that while most of the registered information is changeable later on, this does not apply to the chosen username.
Select journals and roles
Select one or more journals you would like to register with.
With the vast majority of journals, you have the opportunity to register as a reader. If this is not the case, it is because either, a) the journal has ceased to publish new issues or is published under a new name, or b) access to the journal requires a subscription. Note that some journals only require a subscription to access the latest issue, while previous issues are freely available.
It is necessary to register as a reader due to the GDPR. You can subsequently assign the role of author to your profile.
In order to register with a journal, it is necessary to agree to have your data collected and stored in accordance with tidsskrift.dk’s and the journal’s privacy statements.
Complete the registration and login
Before completing the registration, you can choose whether you want to be informed about new publications and announcements from the journal or journals you have registered with.
Once you have filled out the form, press ‘Register’. When you have confirmed that you are in fact not a robot, you will receive a confirmation email.
Confirm and login.
Associate the role of author with your profile
Once logged in, you will see your username in the upper right corner.
To associate the role of author with your profile, place the cursor over your username. This will unfold a menu where you should choose 'view profile'.
From here, you select the third tab 'roles', and click on the field 'register with other journals'. This unfolds a list with all the journals available on tidsskrift.dk.
In the list, you can register as an author (as well as a reader and peer reviewer), unless the journal has opted out of this option.
Remember to confirm your selections by clicking 'save' at the bottom of the page.
B) Registration with a specific journal
Select ‘register’ and fill out the form
If you wish to register under a specific journal, go to the journal's website and select ‘Register’ in the upper right corner next to ‘Login’.
If it is not possible to click register, it is either because, a) the journal has ceased to publish new issues or is published under a new name, or b) access to the journal requires a subscription.
This will open a registration form for you to complete. Fields marked with * are mandatory.
Please note that although most information can be changed later on, this does not apply to the chosen username.
With some journals, you can connect an ORCID iD to your profile. This ensures that you are properly identified and associated with your publications. Read more at ORCID's webpage.
