Online omsorg for patienter med kroniske lidelser: en dynamisk og temporal omsorgspraksis i patientorganiserede fællesskaber på sociale medier

Resumé
Ansvaret for omsorg har traditionelt været forbundet med velfærdsstaten og de sundhedsprofessionelle. Imidlertid er omsorg for patienter med kroniske sygdomme under pres i nutidens sundhedsvæsen og velfærdsstat. I en tid med sociale medier bliver det især vigtigt at udvide den traditionelle forståelse af omsorgspraksis og undersøge online plejepraksisser. Formålet med denne artikel er at give indsigt i, hvordan omsorgspraksis produceres i patientorganiserede online fællesskaber, og hvordan sociale medier påvirker produktionen af omsorgspraksis. Vi analyserer empirisk materiale fra to forskellige typer af danske patientorganiserede online grupper for patienter med kroniske tilstande, som består af data fra en online spørgeskemaundersøgelse og semistrukturerede interviews med 21 medlemmer/ følgere.
Denne artikel giver en nuanceret forståelse af den omsorgspraksis, der finder sted på sociale medier i selvorganiserede online fællesskaber på to områder: 1) Online omsorgspraksis kan tilpasses patienters dynamiske og kontinuerligt skiftende behov for omsorg og 2) Online omsorgspraksis er ekstrem fleksibel, fordi den ikke har faste tidsstrukturer og er tilgængelig døgnet rundt, især om natten, når pårørende sover, og det etablerede sundhedssystem er lukket. Denne artikel bidrager til eksisterende forskning i online omsorgspraksis ved at udvide betydningen af omsorg i patientorganiseredeonline fællesskaber til at være tilpasningsdygtig, fleksibel og rettidig, hvorved online omsorgspraksisser kan imødekomme dynamiske og konstant skiftende behov for omsorg.
