Online omsorg for patienter med kroniske lidelser: en dynamisk og temporal omsorgspraksis i patientorganiserede fællesskaber på sociale medier

Resumé
Ansvaret for omsorg har traditionelt været forbundet med velfærdsstaten og de sundhedsprofessionelle. Imidlertid er omsorg for patienter med kroniske sygdomme under pres i nutidens sundhedsvæsen og velfærdsstat. I en tid hvor sociale medier spiller en stigende rolle i hverdagslivet er det helt centralt at undersøge, hvordan fællesskaber på sociale medier skaber omsorg på nye måder. Formålet med denne artikel er at analysere den omsorg, som praktiseres i patientorganiserede fællesskaber på sociale medier for patienter med kroniske lidelser. Vi analyserer empirisk materiale fra to forskellige typer af danske patientorganiserede online grupper for patienter med kroniske lidelser, som består af data fra en online spørgeskemaundersøgelse og semistrukturerede interviews med 21 medlemmer/ følgere.
Denne artikel udfolder særlige karakteristika ved den omsorgspraksis, der finder sted i patientorganiserede fællesskaber på sociale medier på to områder: 1) Online omsorg kan matche foranderlige behov for omsorg og brugerne kan indtage rollen som både omsorgsgiver og -modtager, 2) Online omsorg er temporalt fleksibelt, fordi den ikke har faste tidsstrukturer og er tilgængelig døgnet rundt. Artiklen bidrager til eksisterende forskning ved at vise hvordan online omsorgspraksisser er fleksibelt tilgængelige og kan imødekomme dynamiske og skiftende behov.
