Resumé

I artiklen Are we really there and in contact? Staging first-hand witnesses of contemporary Danish war- fare af Birgit Eriksson udforskes de æstetiske og politiske dilemmaer i to performances, der bruger soldater og andre, som på første hånd har været vidne til aktuel dansk krigsførelse: Matthaei und Konsortens War – you should have been there (Viborg 2013) og Christian Lollike’s I føling. En krigs- ballet (København/Aarhus 2014-15). Artiklens hovedspørgsmål er, hvordan de to stykkers insisteren på sandhed og virkelighed interagerer med æstetiske strategier, og hvordan brugen af sårbare krigsvidner påvirker vores forståelse af krig og mulighed for kritik.
