Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

As the author of an article, please make sure that

# the articel in within the scope of LOM and represent new knowledge

# the problem and purpose of the article are clearly formulated.

# the methodological and theoretical bases of the article are expounded.

# the article accounts for the extent and clarity of the empirical data.

# the arguments and analyses of the article are clear and well-structured.

# the reflections, conclusions and recommendations of the article are coherent, following a discussion/analysis of any empirical data e.g.

# the article relates to existing literature, discussions and/or experiences within the field.

# the article provides the necessary background and context for the topic so that the reader can follow the arguments.

# the article is structured in a logical and clear manner, a clear common thread e.g.

Formalities:

# The article, including end notes, headings and abstract (cf below) should be 6000 to 8000 words.

# Language: Danish, Norwegian, Swedish or English.

# Submit your article as a Microsoft Word or RTF formatted file. Allowed formatting is italic (avoid underlining) and bulleted lists.

# Titles and subtitles in the article must be short and precise.

# Only the first letter of the heading of the article is stated in capital.

# Include an abstract of 150 words that states the theme, focus and conclusions of the article.

# Articles in Danish must include abstracts in both English and Danish.

# Notes must be numbered and listed as end notes.

# If the article includes illustrations, the author must ensure that these may be made public.

# References are listed with the name of the author, year of publication and any page numbers applicable, e.g. (Rogers, 1986, pp. 12-22).

# References are to follow the APA guide for Citing Resources - http://www.apastyle.org/.

# Articles or files uploaded to LOM.dk must not exceed 200 MB.
