Review procedure

A submitted manuscript is assigned to an editor. If the manuscript fits the journal's profile and complies with the genre conventions of a research article, the editor finds two peer reviewers. Peer reviewers must have a Ph.D. and must have published internationally within the scientific field of the manuscript.

Each peer 1) provides a statement of the article's topic, purpose and contribution to the research area, 2) summarises an assessment in one of the four following categories: a) can be published in its current form, b) can be published after minor revisions, c) can be published after major revision, or d) do not have potential to be published in its current form, and 3) comments on the manuscript for the purpose of a revision.

Minor revision implies that the article can be published after the author has revised the article according to the comments of the peer and the editor's instructions.

Major revision implies that the author is given the opportunity to revise the article according to the peer's comments. The author must submit a revised article as well as a document explaining the revision. If the editor considers it necessary, the revised article must be approved by the peers.
