En komparativ analyse af nogle af de mest betydningsfulde europæiske urmuseer

Abstract

Denne udstillingsanalyse sammenligner en række af de førende europæiske urmuseer og diskuterer, hvordan de kuraterer og iscenesætter urets historie. Samtidig fremdrages der prægnante eksempler fra hvert af museernes samlinger, og disse sættes ind i en urhistorisk og kulturhistorisk kontekst. Indledningsvis skitseres de vigtigste udviklinger i urets historie.

Author Biography

Pernille Leth-Espensen, Aarhus Universitet

Pernille Leth-Espensen, ph.d., er ansat som forsker på Æstetik og Kultur på Aarhus Universitet og tilknyttet Den Hirschsprungske Samling. Hun forsker i feltet mellem kunst, videnskab og teknologi fra forskellige perspektiver og i forskellige perioder. Hun skrev ph.d. og postdoc om samtidskunst skabt med naturvidenskabelige teknologier. Det efterfølgende forskningsprojekt Urværker – Teknologisk mediering af tid i kunsten adresserede kunst, der tematiserer urets historie, og nærværende udstillingsanalyse ligger i forlængelse heraf. Hendes aktuelle forskning adresserer krydsningsfeltet mellem planter, kultur, kolonialisme og køn i 1800-tallets danske kunst i det Veluxfinansierede kollektive projekt Skjulte plantehistorier, ledet af lektor Anette Vandsø.
