Resumé

This article examines the motivational technology profile programs in lower secondary school by zooming in on a musical project in an Art & Performance program. Based on Skeggs & Wood’s re-search into reality TV the article combines affect theory with sociological approach to social class to examine, some of the subtle workings of programs as social reproduction. Firstly the article shows that some pupils’ desire is (made into) something disturbing and illegitimate. Secondly, more and other affects than desire are produced and handled; affects that are produced along with struggles regarding what is acknowledged as of value in the program.
