Orddeling: Principper og omsætning til leksikografisk praksis

Abstract

Hyphenation is not often referred to as being part of the most important topics in
linguistic research. But in normal everyday life it becomes the focus of our attention
especially when using hyphenation programmes in word processors. This interest
becomes obvious when reading the complaints of readers about hyphenation errors
committed in newspapers. The readers and writers that request information about
hyphenation are directed to the rules laid down by “Dansk Sprognævn” in their
“Retskrivningsordbogen”. These rules display a lack of clarity which calls for revision.
