Mellem angler og jyder ved Kassø

Resumé

After 150 km of trial trenches and two years
of excavations, we can now begin to see
the contours of the settlement pattern in
the Roman Iron Age at Kassø. Three main
phases may be recognised in the habitation
each dominated by different types of houses
as well as different burial
customs. Taken
together, they present a significantly more
nuanced picture than we might otherwise
recognise when our studies are based on
small-scale excavations only covering a minor
part of the whole.
