Abstract

In his theological habilitation, Hans Jørgen Lundager Jensen defines the religion of The Hebrew Bible as pagan. This sort of religion is not concerned with redemption from this world, but with the blessings of man’s earthly life. Augustine, however, stresses that eternal life is a specific Christian idea. How to integrate these two notions? Hans Jørgen finds an answer in Grundtvig – and Ingemann.
