Resumé

På baggrund af The International Civic and Citizenship Education Study samt et kvalitativt studie af danske unge født i starten af 00’erne ønsker denne artikel at undersøge og diskutere såvel empirisk som teoretisk en række af de afgørende erfaringer og opfattelser, som ligger til grund for og former disse unges politiske engagement. De to studier viser, at der er stor politisk vilje, interesse og viden blandt unge, men samtidig en udbredt reservation over for at protestere og at deltage i offentlige politiske aktiviteter. Artiklens tese er, at deres engagementsform kan betragtes som en kontraprotest. Kontraprotesten dækker over et stigende engagement, som fravælger protest og støtter op om det konventionelle system, hvorved der frigives ressourcer til nye og anderledes typer af samfundsmæssige engagementer.

Jonas Lieberkind

Ph.d. og lektor, Institut for Uddannelse og Pædagogisk, Aarhus Universitet. Forsker i unges politiske dannelse og engagement. Er som forsker en del af det team, som gennemfører The International Civic and Citizenship Education Study i Danmark.
