Abstract

In this article we will try to theoretically answer the question of whether or not the subject contains a critical potential in relation to society, given that it is produced within society. This is done primarily by explicating an expansion of the concept of the point of resistance from the freudomarxist Alfred Krovoza (1973). The point of resistance describes an emancipatory minimum, which is developed through a non-cumulative process and corresponds to the precapitalistic mode of production in opposition to the cumulative process type, which corresponds to the logic of capital in capitalism. Through the concept of neoteny we try to articulate that the non-cumulative process is a condition for the development of the subjects intrasubjective structure – its ‘inner nature’. We then combine the point of resistance with the Oedipal complex to show, that it implies two types of critical reflexivity at stake, when investigating the expression of critique; the critical relation to what you want and the premises for wanting so. This critique is compatible with an affirmative critique (Raffnsøe, 2017), as this critique has to be within the confines of the society that it is expressed in, as it is based on it indirectly. Finally, we investigate the concept of the collective (Nissen, 2012) in relation to the point of resistance, and we show how collectives in their production of different modes of praxis make a relation between the subject and different production process types and thusly to the conflicts that arise between them.
