Resumé

Terminological dictionaries are designed for the purpose of defining concepts and standardizing terms. These dictionaries are frequently used also in translation and foreign language production, without being well suited to these purposes. One of the main drawbacks of terminological dictionaries is that they contain to little of the technical language and almost never other parts of speech than nouns and adjectives. Information about inflection and pronunciation is seldom given. To become suitable for translation and foreign language production, terminological dictionaries and term banks should contain more linguistic information, preferrably in word records sepa-rated from the concept records.
