Resumé

This article examines two aspects of practical lexicography, namely alphabetization and the forms of verbal lemmas. The field for investigation is Danish dictionaries from c. 1500 to c. 1850, and the aim is to see when and how the modern standards were established. Of special interest is the placement of the Danish letters æ, ø and å. It is shown that the dictionaries regarded these letters in different ways until the modern placement (at the end of the alphabet) was reached at the beginning of the 19th century. The forms of the Danish verbal lemmas show a high and longlived influence from the Latin preference of the 1st person indicative until the infinitive is established as standard at about the same time.
