Resumé

This article is based on the “opposition” at Jan Dochhorn’s
public defence for the Danish doctoral degree April 27, 2012 at Aarhus
University. The opposition takes its point of departure in refl ecting
methodological and hermeneutical questions in regard to Dochhorn’s
exegetical analysis of Rev 12, including issues of literaricity (exile motif),
literary history and genre discourse.
