A proposta deste ensaio  é  examinar como se articula a organização formal da matéria violenta  que a realidade brasileira hoje oferece, até atingir a crueldade, examinando dois contos do escritor Marcelino Freire, tentando verificar que funções, além da estética, cumpre essa organização,  sem deixar de considerar que essas funções se manifestam sob as condições dadas pelo contexto específico da  chamada “tragédia social” brasileira. Nesse sentido, desenvolve-se a hipótese de que textos desse tipo podem constituir um gênero peculiar a que caberia o rótulo de “tragédia mínima”.

Abstract:

The aim of this article is to examine the way in which the formal organization of the violent matter which the Brazilian reality offers nowadays articulates itself, to the point of cruelty. To do so, it examines two short stories by Marcelino Freire, trying to verify which functions, beyond aesthetics, that organization fulfills, without letting to consider that those functions manifest themselves under the conditions offered by the specific context of the so called Brazilian “social tragedy”. In this sense, is developed the hypothesis that texts of this kind can constitute a peculiar genre to which the title of “minimal tragedy” would apply.
