Historiografia e recordação O retorno para casa do cidadão-soldado brasileiro e neozelandês da Segunda Guerra Mundial

Resumo
Na historiografia da Força Expedicionária Brasileira (FEB), é comum um ressentimento dirigido ao público, pois há uma percepção de que a maioria dos brasileiros ignora os feitos dos pracinhas. Por meio de um comparativo estudo de caso envolvendo a FEB e a 2ª Divisão da Nova Zelândia, este artigo buscou analisar as influências da Campanha da Itália em suas literaturas e recordações. Foi observado que a marginalização da Campanha da Itália de fato diminuiu a proeminência das forças Aliadas. No entanto, isso não produziu um ressentimento similar na literatura da Nova Zelândia, e sua divisão não é percebida como esquecida. As evidências revelaram que os papéis contrastantes das duas unidades, nas memórias nacionais, são explicados pelas diferentes abordagens governamentais em relação às histórias de seus soldados. Por sua vez, o ressentimento na literatura da FEB é resultado da história da unidade não ter sido captada pela memória coletiva brasileira.
