Abstract

The article shows the multiple readers in various daily reading practices at the beginning of the 20thcentury, indicating as interpretative possibilities arising from the reading act. Reading in the prisons, in the workplaces, in the streets, along with the crowd at the door of newspapers that publish bulletins wiht latest news, there were many readers and countless readings. It is these gestures, from their place as signficant traces that have persisted in the newspapers of the time, that the text interprets.
