Direita e esquerda no Brasil: uma análise da produção legislativa dos deputados federais (1999-2014)

Abstract
This article aims to analyze the legislative production of federal deputies from 1999 to 2014, approaching the relationship between the ideological spectrum of parties and the content of the proposals. The empirical universe is composed of 501 bills authored by the deputies, and approved in the period. It was observed that the laws were predominantly of national aggregation, referring to symbolic subjects, and presented by the major parties. Left parties have approved twice as many social laws as right parties, but in the north and northeast of the country, center parties have stood out in this aspect.
