Abstract

This article discusses Hans Jørgen Lundager Jensen’s analysis of the key message of the Epic of Gilgameš. It analyses aspects of the epic’s introduction that point in a different direction. On this basis, I argue that the formative power of both the epic of Gilgameš and Professor Hans Jørgen Lundager Jensen lies in their continual search for new horizons.
