X-phi og begrebsanalyse i politisk teori

Hvad er eksperimentel-filosofi, og hvilken rolle kan denne nye metode spille i politisk teori? Artiklen præsenterer et alternativ eller et supplement til teoretikerens brug af egne intuitioner i diskussionen af, hvordan man bør forholde sig til normative spørgsmål. Alternativet består i at indsamle via fx surveys eller interviews almindelige menneskers intuitioner i relation til normative spørgsmål og holde dem op mod teoretikeres. Ordinære intuitioner og sprogbrug bruges herefter til at belyse, nuancere, udfordre eller støtte teoretikerens intuitioner i diskussion af normative spørgsmål. Artiklen eksemplificerer x-phi-metoden ved at trække på et eksperiment om diskrimination og afsluttes med en diskussion af den eksperimentel-filosofiske metodes styrker og svagheder.
