Ikkeidealteori og kravet om effektive remedier

Artiklen undersøger ikkeidealteori som et særligt perspektiv i politisk teori og diskuterer, om aktører har en pligt til at vælge effektive midler i forsvaret af centrale rettigheder under ikkeideele forhold. Med udgangspunkt i teorien om militant demokrati introduceres distinktionen mellem ideal- og ikkeidealteori og de normative udfordringer, der opstår, når idealer ikke efterleves. Fokus er på fremadrettede ikkeideale teorier og deres krav om effektivitet, men artiklen diskuterer også, hvordan bagudrettede, deontologiske hensyn kan begrunde handlinger, selv når disse ikke er effektive. Der argumenteres for et afbalanceret princip, hvor effektive løsninger bør forfølges, indtil det ikke længere er muligt, hvorefter andre hensyn kan få forrang. Artiklen bidrager til en mere nuanceret forståelse af moralsk ansvar, legitime reaktionsformer og den rolle, effektivitetskrav spiller i ikkeideal politisk teori.
