Noen vanskelige adjektiver i leksikografisk perspektiv

Resumé

The main purpose of this paper is to discuss how some special adjectives are described in dictionaries. A field-semantic analysis of non-restrictive adjectives shows inconsistencies and incompleteness in lemmaselection and semantic description in two authorized Scandinavian dictionaries. According to a cognitive analysis of adjectives it shows that non-restrictiveness is a matter of use more than of adjective type. The paper concludes that this should also be taken into account when choosing examples and polysemes in dictionary definitions.
