Abstract
Artiklen giver et indblik i de matematiske metoder i oldtidens Ægypten. Gennem konkrete eksempler vises, hvordan brøker, arealberegninger og proportioner blev håndteret uden moderne notation. Det er en kulturhistorisk artikel, der viser, hvordan kvantitativ tænkning opstod i de tidlige civilisationer.
