Vagthund eller skødehund? Efterspørgslen på kritisk journalistik under coronakrisen

Resumé

Rollen som samfundets vagthund er central i borgernes forventninger til journalistikken, men hvordan er efterspørgslen på den kritiske journalistik under samfundskriser som coronapandemien? På baggrund af tre repræsentative spørgeskemaundersøgelser undersøger vi, hvordan borgernes efterspørgsel på kritisk journalistik udviklede sig gennem coronakrisen, og hvem der særligt efterspurgte denne type journalistik. Vores resultater viser, at efterspørgslen på kritisk journalistik steg over tid, og at det særligt var oppositionens vælgere, der efterspurgte den. Denne partiloyalitet modereres dog af vælgernes opfattelse af krisens konsekvenser for økonomien og sundhedsvæsenet, således at efterspørgslen særligt var høj blandt oppositionsvælgere, der var uenige i regeringens håndtering af krisen.
