Natur/teknologi og nordiske elevers miljø- og klimabevidsthed

Abstract

Dette studie undersøger sammenhænge mellem undervisning i natur/teknologi og miljø- og klimabevidsthed blandt 4.-klasseelever i de nordiske lande. Analyser gennemføres på data fra TIMSS 2019, hvor der indgår en skala for elevernes miljø- og klimabevidsthed, som er associeret til viden og kognitive færdigheder indenfor emnet. Resultaterne viser en positiv korrelation og fremhæver natur/teknologis potentiale til at øge miljø- og klimabevidsthed. Derudover viser resultaterne at elevers miljø og
klimabevidsthed generelt er højere hvis de kan lide at lære natur/teknologi, og hvis deres fagligeselvtillid er høj. Intraklassekorrelationsanalyser viser variation i hvor meget vægt de enkelte skoler og lærere lægger på undervisningen i klima- og miljøspørgsmål. Studiet finder ingen kønsforskelle, men derimod markante forskelle på elevers miljø- og klimabevidsthed afhængigt af socioøkonomisk baggrund.
