Abstract

The article describes a novel feature of ionization of clusters and large molecules. Based on experimental studies the mechanisms of light absorption and subsequent ionization of complex molecules are discussed. The transition between single photon to collective effects in large molecules like fullerenes are described. Key elements are energy distributions, electron emission and statistical processes.
