Resumé

Abstrakt: Naturforbundethed bliver i stigende grad betragtet som et afgørende konstrukt til at forstå naturdannelse og forhold som relaterer sig til naturbeskyttelse og bæredygtig handling. Dette studie, som er den første kvantitative undersøgelse af sin art i Danmark, måler skolebørns forhold til natur med det såkaldte nature connectedness index (NCI) og sætter resultaterne i relation til baggrundsvariable som årgang, køn, skoleprofil og land-by-forskel samt variable som vidensniveau og affektiv reaktion i forbindelse med bæredygtighedsemner. Data kommer fra 12 folkeskoler og tæller 1.267 elever fra 6. til 9. årgang. Der er anvendt regressionsanalyser for at undersøge de forskellige faktorers sammenhæng med NCI. Analyserne peger på en relativt lav naturforbundethed for danske skolebørn og et karakteristisk teenagedyk som også ses i andre studier. Mens NCI ikke synes at være forskellig i relation til køn og skolekarakteristika, er der tydelige sammenhænge med elevernes affektive reaktioner og vidensniveau.
Afslutningsvis diskuteres mulige konklusioner i relation til pædagogiske initiativer.
