The purpose of this article is to discuss the use of metaphor analysis in organizational education
research as a branch of educational science that is particularly concerned with questions of organizational learning. We discuss how metaphor analysis can be an "odd method" and a fruitful approach for gaining new insights in organizational educational research. We draw on a case study of a professional learning network for science teacher educators in the Danish Academy of Science Education (NAFA). The metaphor we work with is NAFA understood as a knowledge ecology. This root metaphor was presented to a group of science teacher educators and giving them the task of drawing the knowledge ecology on a postcard. We analyze examples of these drawings and discuss how metaphor analysis as an 'odd method' can potentially contribute new insights into organizational educational phenomena by challenging metaphorical resonance and utilizing multiple modalities in working with metaphors.
