About the Journal

Diálogos Latinoamericanos is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by the Latin American Center (LACUA) at Aarhus University http://lacua.au.dk/. The journal is a member of Latinoamericana - Asociación de Revistas Literarias y Culturales. It is hosted by the Royal Danish Library and indexed by REDALYC, HAPI, PROQUEST and LATINDEX.

Diálogos Latinoamericanos was first published in 2000 as a successor of Gacela - Gaceta de Estudios Latinoamericanos (1985-1992).

Aim and scope

The journal publishes original research in the field of Latin America studies in literature, history, politics, anthropology, sociology, linguistics, cultural studies and related disciplines. It especially welcomes comparative, transnational and global perspectives as well as interdisciplinary approaches. Furthermore, it publishes special thematic issues and invites conceptual and theoretical-methodological reflections on Latin American studies in a changing research environment.

Language

Diálogos Latinoamericanos publish articles in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

Open Access policy

Diálogos Latinoamericanos is a fully open access online journal and every published article is freely accessible in full text to everyone, immediately after publication.

Diálogos Latinoamericanos does not charge for submission, review or publishing of articles.

Counting from volume 31 (2022), articles published in Diálogos Latinoamericanos are licensed under CC-BY 4.0. Read more about the license terms here https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

No Creative Commons license applied on volumes 1-30. All rights reserved by the authors. Readers may download, read, and link to the articles, but they cannot republish the articles.

Copyright

With the publication of volume 31 (2022), authors retain the full copyright to their articles and give Diálogos Latinoamericanos the right to the first publication. Authors also retain copyright to earlier versions of manuscripts, such as the submitted (pre-print) and the accepted manuscript (post-print).

Copyright to articles published in volumes 1-30 is held by the authors.

Peer review process

Research articles under consideration for publication in Diálogos Latinoamericanos are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Together with an editor’s decision letter, reviews will be sent to author(s) usually within six months after receipt of the manuscript.

Authors are responsible to anonymize their manuscripts so the review process can be carried out correctly.
