Abstract

Lautrup analyserer tsunamien i Det Indiske Ocean som en klassisk lavvandsbølge med enorm bølgelængde og lille amplitude. Artiklen gennemfører størrelsesordensestimater for energifrigørelse og bølgeudbredelse og viser, hvordan simpel hydrodynamik kan forklare et katastrofalt fænomen. En mesterlig anvendelse af fysikkens værktøjskasse på en aktuel begivenhed.
