About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Proceedings of the Danish Institute at Athens publishes academic articles on topics related to Greek and Mediterranean archaeology, history, language, literature, visual arts, architecture, art history and cultural traditions.

An essential part of the journal is furthermore the publication of preliminary reports of Danish archaeological fieldwork carried out in Greece.  

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to Proceedings of the Danish Institute will first undergo an initial review by the editors. Articles that the editors find suitable for publication will be submitted to a double-blind peer review procedure. The editors of each issue moderate and supervise the review process. 

Open Access Policy

The Danish Institute provides open access to the contents of published volumes of the proceedings of the Danish Institute at Athens with an embargo period of two years.

Journal History

The first volume of the Proceedings of the Danish Institute at Athens was published in 1995, and volumes have since then been published with an interval of two-three years.
