About the Journal
Danish Journal of Musicology is an open-access scholarly journal related to music research in the widest sense. The disciplinary scope of the journal encompasses historical musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory and analysis, popular music studies, sound studies, music education, music aesthetics, music sociology, and any other aspects of music studies.
The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles, as well as book reviews, reports on research projects and conferences, colloquies, as well as a bibliography on literature related to Danish music or musicology.
The journal publishes research within all areas of music studies, but has a particular strength in featuring scholarship on Danish, Nordic, and Northern European music.
The journal is published by the Danish Musicological Society (Dansk Selskab for Musikforskning) and has been published since 1961, under the title Danish Yearbook of Musicology (vols. 31–45) and Dansk Årbog for Musikforskning (vols. 1–30).
Open Access
Danish Journal of Musicology is a diamond open access journal, on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and to make sure copyright stays with authors. As of volume 46 the articles are published under a CC-BY license. The editorial board may accept other Creative Commons licenses for individual articles, e.g. if required by funding bodies.
Danish Journal of Musicology does not charge for submission, review or publishing of articles.
