Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font for the main text, and 10-point Times New Roman for footnotes. The text employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URLs). All illustrations, figures, and tables are submitted as a separate document/s.

  • Please format your manuscripts as follows: Times New Roman font, 1.5-spaced, font size 12 (10 for notes), justified throughout the whole document.
  • Please submit figures and tables in a separate document along with your manuscript.
  • Please ensure neither you nor your institution can be identified in your manuscript for our peer review process. If you cite your own work, please cite it as if you are not also the author. Please do not cite your own unpublished work.
  • Abstracts are to be no more than 500 words.
  • You can use any type of English spelling (please ask us about other languages!) but must keep internally consistent throughout your manuscript.

  • To submit your manuscript, please use the Royal Danish Library portal. This is available at: https://www.tidsskrift.dk/. Further instructions and a User Guide are on the portal website. For any questions, please feel free to contact our Editorial Office.
  • Once your manuscript is sent for peer review and accepted, it goes to the Editorial Assistant for copyediting. You will then review the edited version of your paper. The paper is then checked by the Editors. After their review, it is published in Hyphae.
