El desmadre de Pablo Farrés y la resiliencia de la Nada

This article analyses Pablo Farrés’s novel El desmadre as a radical disruption of the post-dictatorship Argentine literary paradigm centered on resilience, testimony, and moral repair. Rather than contributing to narratives of healing, Farrés deploys a speculative-poetic operation—defined here as coprohistory—in which History is not a redemptive archive but a grotesque, unassimilable machine of trauma. Drawing on speculative realism, accelerationism, and object-oriented ontology, the novel imagines a world where the subject dissolves, memory implodes, and the grotesque overrides all political allegory. Through aesthetic excess, ontological deformation, and dark satire, El desmadre critiques the ideological function of literature in Argentina’s democratic narrative. It proposes instead a literature of the Id—a voice of the inhuman, obscene, and spectral. The article argues that only by abandoning the imperative of resilience can literature confront the abyssal truth of trauma and the monstrous substrate of the national mythos.
