This article presents an overview of the historical and bibliographic significance of El Libro de los Epítomes, a recently rediscovered manuscript housed in the Arnamagnæan Collection at the University of Copenhagen. Compiled between 1526 and 1536, El Libro de los Epítomes contains approximately 2,000 summaries, or epitomes, of books from the extensive library of Hernando Colón, the son of Christopher Columbus. In addition, this work contains an initial analysis of how classical Roman texts were summarized within the manuscript, highlighting its value as a source of the reception history in the late Middle Ages.
