This report maps peer-reviewed research from, in, and about Greenland between 2015 and 2024 using bibliometric data from OpenAlex. It examines publication volume, research priorities, international collaboration, institutional participation, and geographical distribution. Greenland-related output remained broadly stable at 1,700–1,800 articles annually, but declined by approximately 11% relative to global publication growth. Research is heavily concentrated in the physical sciences, particularly atmospheric science, climate change, ecology, and cryosphere studies, while health, social, and cultural research remains comparatively limited. Only about 10% of publications involved a Greenland-based co-author. Locally anchored research placed greater emphasis on health, Indigenous issues, fisheries, and wildlife than research produced without Greenlandic participation. Canada, the United States, and Denmark were the largest contributors, although US output declined while China’s increased. Research activity was concentrated along Greenland’s south-west coast and at specialised environmental observatories. The findings highlight opportunities to strengthen Greenlandic participation, diversify research priorities, and manage international collaboration strategically.
